Type of License:

  • Service Licence:

    Specific services can be undertaken with this license type.

  • Trade Licence:

    The import/export and distribution of specifically mentioned products can be undertaken with this license.

  • Industrial Licence:

    Importing raw materials, manufacturing, processing, assembly, and packaging of all specified and approved products can be undertaken with this license.

  • Business Operation Permit:

    This is a special permit for companies operating in the Administrative Zone of DSOA using a licence that has already been issued by Dubai Economic Department (DED).

  • Entrepreneurial Business Licence:

    This licence is only available to existing members of DSO's incubator programme and involves a subsidised licence in return for a small percentage in the business. This is set up as an aid to young and upcoming entrepreneurs and gives them access to a respectable free zone and its services.

The following company types are available to incorporate:

  • Branch

    Whether in the UAE or abroad, businesses are able to register its branch in the Dubai Silicon Oasis. The activity of the branch must correspond directly to the business activity of the head office.

  • Free Zone Establishment (FZE)

    An FZE is a legal entity incorporated/registered by a single shareholder.

  • Free Zone Company (FZCO)

    An FZCO is a legal entity incorporated/registered with a minimum of two shareholders.

Set up in 2005, DSO is a government owned Free Zone, spanning 7.2 million square metres. The infrastructure is state-of-the-art and it offers strong incentives for businesses.
